Letters to Brian (Brian Learns to Cook)
Published in Paperback by Buy Books on the web.com (1999)
Author: Walter E. Wood
Average review score:

More than just a cookbook- "Letters To Brian" is great!
This is a gem of a book! It is different from the usual cookbook, and one needs time to read it all the way through. Then, when you need to know how to cook something, go to the table of contents, and find it. You will find very basic, easy to follow directions, and possibly, some interesting insights, history of, even quotations about the food in question! I consider myself a good cook, having been "at it" for 40-odd years, but I had never known how the cantaloupe got it's name, or how a corn plant blossom is fertilized! This is a book that is a lot of fun, educational, and an "easy read" besides. Walt Wood employs a casual writing style, (as one does in a letter to a nephew), and urges the reader to KISS - an acronym that means "Keep it Simple - " because it works! This book will make a great gift for that college student who is learning to cook, a thoughtful shower gift for the bride-to-be, and appropriate for anyone of any age who must begin to cook for him or herself. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Life Application Family Devotions

A great devotional
This book is great. Period. It also helps if you are a member of Christ Community Chruch, in Ruston, LA, because so much of this book IS about CCC. The "Packmans" in this book, are, in reality, a REAL family. There IS a Bob, Kathy, Micheal, and Gwen. It's a great book, which speaks plainly. None of the seminary talk we hear so much from pastors. Bravo Len Woods!

Little Rabbit's New Tail
Published in Hardcover by Millbrook Pr Trade (September, 1997)
Authors: A. J. Wood, Rachael O'Neill, and Rachael C'Neill
Average review score:

My four year old loves it!
My four year old daughter loves this book. It has become her favorite. The book has fuzzy tails for the rabbits built in like much older books used to. It takes the combination of a cute story with an easy to understand moral, mixes it with nice artwork and "touchy-feelies" that would make it the favorite of any child 3-5.

An invaluable resource for ideas and information.
The use of logs in constructing classic lodges and cabins are enduringly popular structures with the American public. Logical Lexicon of Useless English
Published in Paperback by Pomegranate Press (September, 1988)
Authors: William Wood and Tony Gleeson
Average review score:

The Logical Lexicon--BETTER than Wm. Wood thinks!
Author Bill Wood tells you that I have my "own reasons" for wanting to see you scoop up the few remaining copies of this, the best book he and I ever collaborated upon. Quite simply, take it from me, this is the BEST book you have never heard of and don't own! This is BETTER than "War and Peace" and you can get through it much faster! It's DIRTIER than "Tropic of Cancer" if you use your imagination, FUNNIER than Mel Brooks, DEEPER than Thomas Pynchon, and MORE CYNICAL than the complete works of H.L. Mencken! Plus not only is the wordsmithing marvelous but the drawings are just heart-warming! And it is a rare opportunity to see the EARLY WORK of two creative masters from way back in the Twentieth Century! And believe me, I am in no way swayed by the fact that I helped put this marvelous tome together. I would have loved it even if I didn't work on it! Besides, Bill has been reduced to selling pencils on his remote Northwestern island and needs your support.......
